(Comment by Matt – As you know – articles to Gardenbarber are submitted by various contributors and I usually don’t comment but I have to say that although the Ryobi is a decent DIY grass cutter – it is not robust enough for heavy work or for large gardens typically found in the Highway area. We use Stihl machines and they get the job done. Bear in mind they do cost upwards of R6000 whereas the Ryobi is usually below R2000. )

….. A Ryobi Weed Eater will help you if having perfectly manicured landscaping is what you are looking for. Regardless of the size your yard is and whatever types of greens or trees you have, Ryobi offers various sorts and sizes of weed trimmers and eaters to your requirements.

You really need to take into consideration a few different factors when choosing the ultimate weed eating tool. One of the first things to think about is the size of your lawn and the type of grass and landscaping you have. You also need to consider your physical strength to handle the piece of equipment. Consider just how much you can afford to spend. There are many different lawn cutting tools to choose from, with different power types, sizes and price ranges.

One more thing to consider when choosing a weed whacking tool may be the job you need done. Are your weeds thick and overgrown? How often does your yard need to be cut and trimmed? Weed eating tools are available in different sizes and types and you will find a great tool for your lawn.

For a larger lawn, a gas powered weed tool is most likely your better choice. With a gas weed trimmer, you can cut more and you are therefore not constrained by a cord to help you go as far as you need to trim the weeds. However, the gas powered tools are usually heavier and the cost of fuel could be expensive.

For those who have a more compact lawn, then an electric weed eater may be a lot more sensible for you. While they do not possess as much power as the gas powered tools, they complete the same job for a smaller lawn. The electric run weed trimming tools tend to be lighter weight compared to gas powered kinds and easier to deal with. Ryobi for example offers a reasonably affordable cordless trimmer so that you can go where you need to in order to get that type of job done.

The cost range of weed eaters vary according to type and size and you will pay anywhere from $80 to $200. Ryobi trimmers are offered on the internet or you can find them at the hardware store or at a home and garden store, like the Home Depot. I suggest checking equipment and tools out in the store so that you can get an idea of the weight and feel of it before buying one.

Ryobi provides the gear you require to keep your yard looking wonderful. With spring-time well under way and summer just around the corner, today is the excellent time to invest in a Ryobi weed eater.

If you enjoy the singing of birds in your backyard you might wish to draw in more birds. They are a sight to see when you have a pair of cardinals, yellow finches, and the robins visit your yard. Let’s see if we can come up with a healthy backyard bird habitat for them and help keep them safe at the same time. It can be a real rewarding experience watching their daily activity and listening to them sing. The best way to get started is to realize that there are only three basic things that they need: food, shelter and water. Just like our needs. When you provide these you will soon have a family of birds nesting in your yard. They will give you many hours of enjoyment and entertainment.

It is best if you provide a variety of food. Birds like to eat insects, but also enjoy feeding on seeds and nuts. You do not have to provide these for them. If they have plenty of trees and other plants available it will naturally provide a food supply. Some of the best are sunflower, cranberry bushes and oak trees. These are just a few suggestions. Different types of bird feeders allow you to provide other seeds that they will enjoy.

Don’t forget that they will need a water supply close by. It is wonderful if you have a natural stream or creek, but not all of us do. Man-made ponds are great too. But most of us rely on bird baths and fountains. Due to predators, always a problem, you will need to position these in an open area so they can be on watch at all time.

Next we need to provide shelter for our birds. Trees and shrubs are the best, but not all of us have them. So it may be up to us to provide bird houses to give them a safe place for nesting. But remember that birds can be territorial and fight others if they are too close. So place these houses far enough apart so they will be able to nest in a relaxed environment. Also not all birds like the same type of house. Place the bird house in the proper place for the bird you hope to attract in this house.

Birding is fun. So let’s make it a good experience by creating the most natural backyard bird habitat possible.
